Lessons from Algeria on foreign terrorist fighters

Over the last two and a half years, Algerian authorities have released information on 156 of the nearly 200 Algerian terrorists who have surrendered in the country’s far south.

In this article for the Institute for Security Studies, I discuss the impact of Algeria’s policy and argue that other states must take responsibility for removing their nationals from conflicts raging in the Sahel.
